“I honestly think [homosexuality]’s the biggest threat even, that our nation has, even more so than terrorism or Islam, which I think is a big threat. [...] ‘Matter of fact, studies show, that no society that has totally embraced homosexuality has lasted more than, you know, a few decades. So it’s the death knell of this country.” -Sally Kern

If you aren’t aware, Sally Kern is an Oklahoma State Representative, one of the people that represents the ideals of the American people as is the intent of the U.S.’s representative democratic system. What, what?
If you would like to read the full transcript of Sally Kern’s hate-speech, you can find it here. If your mouth hasn’t already dropped to the floor, then comprehend how she was given a standing ovation after the speech.
I saw the movie American History X recently, in which a family struggles with neo-Nazism involvement. Her speech reads like a speech from that movie. It speaks of “indoctrination,” “infiltration,” and refers to an entire sect of American citizens as a cancer that needs to be wiped out. I have to say it again: She’s a House Representative!?.
To tell you the truth, I could care less about Eliot Spitzer resigning. He’s such big news that news channel helicopters followed his truck as it left his office building. I really don’t understand that. Meanwhile, another political figure essentially threatens American people with death, and the press hardly bats an eye. And wait… police are now sifting through the tens of thousands of mail and e-mail she is receiving for death threats, which naturally are considered criminal. I say she deserves every single death threat she has received after her narrow-minded rant. Why hasn’t she gone to prison yet? Where are the people investigating her plans to destroy America?
She also stated “Not all religions are equal,” which certainly is true, but to a very short extent. Obviously people frown upon those who praise killing others in the name of their religion, but I believe that religions in general should be treated equally. Islam is not a bad religion; in fact, it is a very close neighbor to many forms of Christianity. People who kill in the name of Islam are obviously bad people, but the religion itself is neither destroying America, nor is it beneath Christianity, as Sally Kern has stated.
I’m waiting for the day she loses her job. If that day doesn’t come, I’ll have lost a great deal of faith in the America’s democratic system. Clearly it has been “infiltrated” by fanatics who seek to “indoctrinate” the country with narrow-minded idiocy. She is the worst kind of hypocrite; the kind that accuses other people of doing exactly what she is doing. Please reevaluate who is destroying America, Sally Kern. The American people or you?
